Home Research, Surveys & Academic Papers Surveys Deer of the Peak District Eastern Moor Survey 2006
E-mail Print

For a number of years there has been a herd of Red Deer present on the Eastern Moors of the Peak District and spreading into the surrounding area. Increasingly these deer are coming into contact with people. This ranges from simple sightings by walkers through to the deer actually grazing in gardens around Curbar.

This herd and their movements are being studied as part of an independent ongoing research project conducted through Sheffield Hallam University into urban and urban-fringe deer. We want to know if you have seen these deer, how many there were, and what they were doing. Your information is vital to us.

We would also like information on what you think about deer in or near to built-up areas. Are you pleased, or do you worry about potential damage? There are some simple questions below, plus space for your comments and observations, and for information about yourself and your area.

Please pass the form to friends, neighbours and colleagues and encourage them to get involved.

Please return the completed forms to:
