Home Research, Academic Papers & Survey Reports

Much of UKEconet's work involves local and regional surveys, and many of these provide opportunities for local people to get involved - often by sending in records and other observations. You can find the results of this work and also how to get involved. This information will be added to the website over the next few months, so please keep coming back to check. There will also be announcements in the local press, especially the Sheffield Star, so look out for the On The Wild Side feature every Saturday. Surveys will also be announced on BBC Radio Sheffield and on the Walk on the Wild Side web page.

Current areas of work include:

  • Invasive species research
  • Upland peatlands
  • Research into rare and vulnerable species
  • Mapping of lowland heaths and riverine washlands
  • Research into ancient woodlands and their associated industries
  • Hedgerow mapping
  • Site surveys
  • Urban hydrology
  • ...and much more!
