Airfields Cover

Two local researchers have put their interest in aviation to good use by producing this look into the history of two airfields, Ashbourne and Darley Moor. Filled with photographs and stories from the years the airfields were in service from 1941, created for use during World War Two. The lands were disposed of by the RAF in the 1950s, but the history of the sites is continued right up to the present day. It includes tales of crashes, one before the runway had even been completed!
