Grenowoods Greno Woods is one of the biggest and most wildlife-rich ancient woodlands in Yorkshire.
The purchase of the woods by Sheffield Wildlife Trust means that in future, sustainable management techniques will include timely thinning, track maintenance, footpath creation and the construction of timber loading areas; but will be achieved in such a way that is beneficial to wildlife and people.

Getting Back to Nature Getting Back to Nature
IN A quiet corner of Sheffield, Maxwell Ayamba is helping more than one thousand ethnic minority children and adults reconnect with nature.
“I was brought up in a rural environment in northern Ghana, so I felt that developed that passion in me,” the environmental journalist and researcher told The Voice. “But when I came over here (to study for a post-graduate journalism diploma) it was a different ball game.”
Ayamba, who is a researcher at Sheffield Hallam University, said it is estimated that 30 percent of Sheffield’s ethnic minorities use green spaces such as parks. This is despite having one of the world’s most visited parks, the Peak District, just 15 minutes away by bus.
